Ladies Competition Day at Theydon Bois is on a Thursday morning when the tee is reserved until 12:00 noon. A range of competitions are played including LGU Medals, Stableford and team competitions for a variety of cups and trophies.
For those who are working many of the individual competitions can be played on an “alternate day” on the previous weekend.
On Tuesdays the section runs an informal 9-hole competition. Pairings are not arranged beforehand. Individual members volunteer to be in charge each week and arrange the pairs to play with each other as people arrive in the locker room. New members may take part even if they haven’t attained a handicap.
The Section runs Silver, Bronze and Harris Bowl Teams which all take part in Essex Ladies’ County Golf Association leagues and competitions.
Mixed Golf and Knockout Competitions - There are lots of extra opportunities to play in both social and “serious” competitions with a full programme of mixed competitions and away days organised throughout the year.
Friendly matches and mixed fixtures are arranged with local clubs throughout the year; often with a meal afterwards.
