| Hole 5: Copse Corner |

It was always said that a 5 scored here meant that you had to “leave the course”. Certainly the easiest hole on the course and rightly reflects SI 18, however, as usual for Theydon danger lurks for a shot hit right. Slight dog leg right. Your tee shot line is middle of fairway left of the visible bunker with a 2-3 iron (195 yards to fly bunker off back). Prevailing wind is normally behind and generally a driver or even 3 wood here is folly. Driver at the green has to be hit Trevino style 280 yards on the fly and is best left for Texas Scramble. Flatish green. Always a birdie chance.
