The best golf hole on the course from any tee and you will be happy with a 5 here whatever the weather conditions. OB all the way down the left. A birdie 3 here is not only rare but will feel like an eagle. Only proper golf shots will reward good scores here. The tee shot (and all shots thereafter until the green is reached) should be played with whatever you feel will get/keep you “in play”. This hole would grace any professional tournament. The second shot will inevitably be a long one and always plays 1-2 clubs longer than you think, as it is played slightly uphill.
A medal round at Theydon can be over by the 2nd. All members should know this.
